IT Support Help Desk

The IT Support Help Desk is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm for consulting and assistance with computer problems. Contact us at 425 - 4000 or email helpdesk@utc.edu to report problems and to make requests for technology services.

UTCID

Your UTCID is an universal "username" for many services such as email, web space, server storage, library databases, wireless access, computer lab logins and online registarion and classes. Every UTCID has an associated password. If you don't know your password Click on "Forgot Password/Help" on the UTC website. Your UTCID is printed on your Mocs Card.

With your UTCID you can login to the UTC portal from the UTC home page (http://www.utc.edu). The portal is often referred to as MocsNet.

UTC E-mail

Every student, faculty and staff member has an UTC email account. E-mail can be accessed on the web by entering in your UTCID and password on the UTC website: http://www.utc.edu.

Students the UTC email address is used by faculty and administration as an official channel of communication, so you should check your account regularly. Non enrolled students willm lose their email accounts after the start of the second semester of non enrollment. Example: Fall graduates will lose access the beginning of the next Fall semester.

UTC Server Storage

ITD provides students, faculty and staff with server storage space for documents and personal web pages. Students receive 50mb worth of disk space to store documents and web pages. To access the server log in to the MocsNet portal on the UTC website: http://www.utc.edu. After logging in click on "My Files."

Faculty and staff are provided with a departmental share folder on the UTC servers to share files within their departments.

UTC Online

Many faculty post class materials, syllabi, grades and other useful information in the Blackboard system known as UTCOnline. Once your instructor has registered you for aceess, enter your UTCID and password at http://utconline.utc.edu.

Student Information

Log in to the UTC website: http://www.utc.edu, with your UTCID and password. Click on "Student Information" to view your:

  • Class Schedule
  • Grades
  • RAP sheet
  • Account Balance and Holds
  • Refunds
  • Enrollment Verification
  • Financial Aid Services
  • Add and Drop Classes (Enroll)

Student Technology Center

Computer Lab

UTC's central computer lab is located at 124 University Center near the west entrance (across from the McClellan Gym). The computer lab is open to all students to use to check email, surf the web, work on homework and print documents. The computer lab consists of PCs (100+), Macs, Scanner, Copier, printing and video editing.

The computer lab has workstations for students with disabilities. One workstation is equipped with a scanner. The workstations are adjustable and the following software is installed:

  • Kurzweil 3000
  • Kurzweil 1000
  • Jaws 7
  • TextHelp Read & Write
