Outlook 2003 IMAP Setup
Go to the Start menu
then Settings, Control Panel. In the Control Panel look for the Mail control panel.
- Select E-mail Accounts.
- Select: Add a new e-mail account.
- Select IMAP for the Server Type.
- Click Next. Fill in the fields:
- Name: User’s full name
- E-mail Address: First-Lastname@utc.edu
- IMAP: mail.utc.edu
- SMTP: mail.utc.edu
- Username: UTCID
- Password:
- Click on the More Settings...
- In the Internet E-mail Settings window click on the Outgoing Server tab. Check the option "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Then select "Log on using" and fill in username and password.
- Click on the Advanced tab and check the two boxes for "This server requires an encrypted connection." Set IMAP port to 993 and SMTP port to 465.
- Click Next. Click Finish and open Outlook.
- Go to Tools-> Options. Select the Other tab.
- Click on Advanced Options…
- Click on the Browse button beside Startupin this folder: Inbox
- Browse to the imap.utc.edu Inbox and click OK. This sets the IMAP Inbox as the default e-mail that shows when outlook opens.
- Click OK. Click OK. Shutdown and Restart Outlook.
