Student Computer Help Desk

The Computer Help Desk provides:

  • Phone support for computer and software questions
  • Network card installations
  • Network access in the dorms

Hours of operation and contact info:
The computer help desk is open Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM. We can be reached by phone at 425-2678, e-mail stuhelp@utc.edu or service request form.

All students who use the campus computing services or use their personal computers on the campus network must abide by the Acceptable Use Policy. Failure to do so could result in the loss of priviledges to use the computing services provided by the Information Technology Division.

Supported Software

  • Microsoft Office 2000/XP
  • Microsoft Windows 98/Me/2000/XP
  • Internet Explorer 5.5 sp 2 or higher
  • Mac OS 9.x - 10.x
  • UTC's OneNet

Supported Hardware

  • Pentium II 300Mhz or higher
  • Mac G3 or higher

Limited support will be provided for older systems when installing network cards and for OneNet services. We will not install software or hardware (except NICs) on students computers.

For network card installs or troubleshooting of computer problems you MUST have a scheduled appointment. We will not look at computers without an appointment. You will be asked to bring you computer to the computer lab at 124 University Center (entrance closest to Mac Gym) and must sign an Equipment Release form.
