Surplus Computer Procedures

All computers that need to be sent to surplus on campus must first come through the Information Technology Division (ITD).   ITD wipes the hard drive of all data to meet DOD requirements before sending the computer(s) to surplus.

Submit a request to pick up computers for surplus this is the preferred method.

To surplus computers:

  1. Submit an online request or call IT Support Help Desk at 425-4000.
  2. Be sure to give the following information:
    1. Number of computers
    2. Tag numbers and serial numbers (ex. Dell service tag)
    3. Location of the computers (Building and room)
    4. Contact name and numbers
    5. Are the computer(s) disconnected?
  3. The IT Support Help Desk will open a request to pick up the computer.
  4. ITD will generate a T-64 for the computer(s) to be picked up.
  5. The T-64 will be emailed to the person submitting the request with instructions telling who needs to sign the T-64.
    1. Please do not change the T-64 in anyway. The information is obtained from IRIS.
    2. Please attach the signed T-64 with the computer(s) to be picked up. Do not send through campus mail.
  6. Call 4197 to schedule a pick up after the T64 has been signed. The computers will be picked up with in 10 business days after calling 4197.
