Windows XP and Vista Wireless Setup

UTC students, faculty and staff will need to use their UTCID and password to connect to the wireless network.

  1. Students and employees connect to the "UTC" wireless network.
  2. After selecting "UTC" open a web browser. You will see a message about a certificate error. This is normal just continue to the next page.
  3. Open your browser and try to go to any web site. You should see a warning message about the web site security certificate. This is a UTC web site so it safe to continue to the web site.
  4. To register your computer click on the link under UTC USERS.
  5. On the registration page enter your UTCID, password, and select device type in the drop down menu. Click Download.
  6. You will be asked to download setup.exe. Click Save File.
  7. Double click setup.exe
  8. After the installer begins, click next and the software will install. Click close when the installer is done.
  9. Next, you will see a login screen. Use your UTCID and Password to login.
  10. After you login Bradford will scan your computer to determine if you have Antivirus Software installed with up to date definitions and current Windows updates. This can take a few minutes.
  11. When Bradford is done scanning you will receive a notification that explains if you failed to meet the requirements or passed.
  12. Next you will see a message that explains that your network configuration is being reconfigured. Be patient this may take up to few minutes.  
  13. You can browse the internet if you passed the requirement. If you did not pass, you see a web page that tells you what to do.

UTC guests will need to get a guest account to connect to "Guest", contact IT Support at 425-4000 for assistance.
